Project Title:Beyond the Barriers: Why do women and girls really drop out of sport?
Lead Researcher:Alana Dalgleish
Other Researchers:Broderick Doran

What is it about?

The barriers to participation for women and girls sport have been widely researched, outlining the high-level issues such as cost or loss of interest. However, the behavioural, cultural, social and other unknown factors that cause these issues have not been widely researched.

This study is investigating the barriers to participation for women and girls, and the deeper behavioural, cultural, and social factors that may be leading to these barriers.

What will you be asked to do?

You are invited to complete a short online survey which includes information about your participation in sport. The survey should take approximately 5 – 15 minutes to complete.

  • Your de-identified data may be used for future research projects, such as being re-analysed or added to our data repositories to answer other research questions. Any person gaining access to this data, beyond this project, shall receive the de-identified data set.

How will the results be used?
